The software comes on a small 80mm CD which Windows 10 could only read on the fourth try. I installed the USB drivers and software application easily, but it did not create a desktop icon. I found an Extech folder in Program Files (x86). Windows Defender at first prevented DataLogger.exe from running. Once beyond that, it gives you four buttons: Connect, View File, About, and Quit. Selecting Connect (with the RHT10 plugged in to a USB 2.0 slot) brings up a blank window with menus. Selecting Link/Logger Set brings up a parameter-setting window, with the title that starts as 'Connecting...' and changes after a moment to 'Connected'. Sounds great! However, setting a few parameters and clicking 'Setup' pauses for a few seconds, and then the title changes to 'Connected (not responding)'. No action I tried would get the hardware and software communicating, except if I unplugged the RHT10, a popup announced 'Datalogger Disconnected!'. Ugh!Finally, on the 14th attempt to Connect and Setup, it worked, and I got the 'Press Orange Button to begin' popup.
This may be an excellent piece of hardware, but the software seems amateurish at best.
